Deployed

It's that time of year again when a crazy group of people take an even larger group of crazy kids across the state for a week long youth camp! Our camp theme this year is Deployed! Yep, we are being deployed. I ask that you keep us in prayer through out the week: Leaders, Campers, the cabin groups, all the speakers, the teachings, the devotional time, the activities and however else the Spirit of God leads you to pray. Also, pray for me Monday morning as I do the first teaching of camp for the girls.

No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him. [1 Corinthians 2:9] The Spirit of the living God is about to do an amazing work in these kids and through prayer you get to be a part of it. Thank You dear Friends.

Lyrical Friday - Next Time

For more from Maceij Dakowicz click here
This was not like any Friday...
The Environmental students were given an all day passes to skip other classes in order to spend that school day working outside. I spent all day with my fourth period class pulling weeds, planting, trimming, watering, moving many things around, among other garden work. Being teenagers we didn't just work hard outside, we killed time too. We talked, we laughed, we enjoyed each others company and at the end of the day we all said good-bye and went our merry way.

The weekend faithfully rolled in and with it much excitement. Saturday morning arrived with Prom preparations: hair, nails, makeup, dress, drive, arrive and party on. Sunday was more of a day of rest. And so the weekend had come and gone.

Monday Morning is a day I will never forget, along with the days leading up to it. We were greeted at school with the tragic news that three students had passed away during the weekend: two Senior boys right after Prom in a freak car accident and one teenage girl committed suicide. Horrible way to start the week. I didn't ask to many questions as too the who's and what, I just minded my own business. That is, until my first period class when someone asked me how I was coping with Susy's death.

It was as if they were talking about another Susy.
This couldn't be real. Susy. Susy!? But I had spent all Friday with her. We were talking, laughing and having a good time... suicide? All sorts of thoughts kept crossing my mind, nothing making sense. Still the fact remained, Susy had committed suicide Friday evening after school.

Susy was dead and I was left alive with questions, doubts, fears, guilt, regret and many days ahead of no sleep. She had spent all day with me, and I was too consumed with myself to see her need. I had spent all week and all day with her yet was too self-conscious to speak up and share with her what God had been prompting me to tell her. I spent all day with her and I was too self absorbed to offer her the only solution to her problems: Jesus.

It wasn't too long after that I vowed before the Lord that I would never be ashamed of the Gospel or hide it from anyone. With blood on my hands, tears in my eyes and after many years still heartbroken, I owe it to God (who has restored me) and Susy to speak up for the sake of the cross. Jesus died for you, for me, for that coworker of yours that seems fine, for the student that sits next to you in class, for the guy who you cross paths with on random days, He died for all... you may never have a next time to share Christ with those around you. I beg you, do not be to afraid to intrude with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Next Time, The Arrows Band

I never get tired of believing You
I never get tired of trying to breakthrough
I just get tired of myself sometimes
Cus' you know that it's so easy to be human
It's so easy to make excuses
But the simple truth is I was too scared of intruding

These are peoples lives you're playing with He said
Every time you get a little bit scared
You let another one slip through the net He said
They need Me more than you need to be comfortable
I said stop listening to your head

Oh and Listen to Me
Your mind doesn't understand the things that I see
Next time next time next time listen to Me
Because my voice should be louder than your reasoning, your reasoning
Those human things

Cus' if I don't go when you say go
If I don't speak when you say so
We might find that we run out of pace to see the world around us changed
If I don't move when you say move
Cus' I don't trust what you told me to do
It might never come around again
Heeeeey, next time I'll do it your way

You never know where the Spirit has been whispering at night
You never know where the angels have been putting up a fight
We cannot see with our own eyes
Everything is organised
We can only view when it’s our turn to go
Switch on the lights!

But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? Romans 10:14

fast free

Hello There!

I'm squeezing in some time to write to you all and bring you up to date.
For forty days I embarked on a fast with the Lord: no solids and no shopping. It was a wonderful time of worship, sacrifice, reflection, a lot of discipline, and over all life transforming. The Lord ever so gently called me out in areas that I thought I was in the right. There were days that I did all things through Christ who strengthened me and other days the spirit was willing but the flesh was weak. All in all I have learned that when I am weak then He is strong. Whether it be in a physical weakness or a spiritual one, His grace is sufficient for me.

A few Lessons that I learned:
God fills those who are empty.
You can never pray enough.
The Word of God truly is the bread of life.
A disciple of the Lord must be disciplined.
The condition of my heart may cause God to reject my offering.
God knows true repentance.
In the pursuit of self satisfy we find ourselves empty.
Only God can satisfy my soul.
Confession is the best medicine.
Godly accountability is a life preserver.
God is jealous for me.
When I am secure in God's love then I can be free to love someone else.
Loneliness is a field of hidden treasures.
My loneliness is a gift from God, not only to be accepted but offered as well.
I am not my own.
God will never ask me to do anything that He won't equip me for.
When I break covenant with God, I bring reproach upon myself.
I must check my vision: Can I see the mountain or the mountain mover? -Carl Lentz
And my favorite:
Greater is He that is in me than He who is in the Mall. -Paola Andrea Vega (my bestie!)

Three of the many great verses that my prayer warriors sent me during the fast:
But the salvation of the righteous is from the LORD; He is their strength in the time of trouble. Psalm 37:39

For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. Romans 8:18

It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. Matthew 4:4

The Lord is good and just. May the Lord bless you and strengthen you as you seek to know Him and make Him known.

Lyrical Friday - Joyful

Yay for Friday!
This Lyrical Friday post is Joyful by Brenton Brown. If you are a bit down and out this song is sure to pick you right up. God is so faithful and amazing. If you are weak, run to God who can fill you with strength. Are you feeling empty, run to God who can fill you with life. Are you in found in darkness and despair, run to God who is light. Whatever it may be that you are lacking, run to God who is the giver of every good and perfect gift- He completes you. May the lyrics of this song wet your appetite for worship. May you run to Jesus and bask in His joy, love and peace.

Praise the Lord; praise God our savior! For each day He carries us in his arms
Our God is a God who saves! The Sovereign LORD rescues us from death. Psalm 68:19-20

Lyrical Friday - Follow You

Happy Happy Friday!

Follow You by Leeland is one of those songs that I sing and desire to live out. But, when I dig deep into my heart, I find that I fall short from being that selfless follower of Jesus. James chapter two comes to mind:
Suppose you see a brother or sister who has no food or clothing, and you say, “Good-bye and have a good day; stay warm and eat well”—but then you don’t give that person any food or clothing. What good does that do?
So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless. Now someone may argue, “Some people have faith; others have good deeds.” But I say, “How can you show me your faith if you don’t have good deeds? I will show you my faith by my good deeds.”
You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God. Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror. How foolish! Can’t you see that faith without good deeds is useless?
Beloved friends, I pray that we may be a people who are focused not only on our own needs but the needs of others. Let's follow Jesus into our homes, into our work places, into our schools, into our super markets, into our cities, our states, our countries and into the outermost parts of the world and the gutter-most parts of the this earth! The hurting, the needy, the weary, the weak, the broken, the poor, the lost, the dying are all in need of Jesus.Let's put feet to our faith, be vessels of hope and servants to all.

Follow You, Leeland

you will sing

In that day you will sing:
“I will praise you, O Lord!
You were angry with me, but not any more.
Now you comfort me.
See, God has come to save me.
I will trust in Him and not be afraid.
The Lord God is my strength and my song;
He has given me victory.”

With joy you will drink deeply from the fountain of salvation!

In that wonderful day you will sing:
“Thank the Lord! Praise His name!
Tell the nations what He has done.
Let them know how mighty He is!
Sing to the Lord, for He has done wonderful things.
Make known His praise around the world.
Let all the people shout his praise with joy!
For great is the Holy One of Israel who lives among you.”
Isaiah 12

Lyrical Friday - Search My Heart

Happy Friday Lovelies!
I am so excited to be sharing with you today's selection.
God has been doing a work in my life that is simply remarkable in my eyes. He has given great strength, divine revelation, tremendous comfort, satisfying my heart hunger as well as putting away with doubts and teaching me wonderful truths. And I can't leave out His loving discipline, He is so good. At this moment in time, Search My Heart by Hillsong is more than a worship song, it is the cry of my heart, my prayer and my supplication.

May the Lord humble you today and cause your face to radiate with His glory as you allow Him to minister to you through this lyrical post.
