walking, sinking and crying out

Hello there Amigos!
God has placed a word of encouragement in my heart to share with you. So... if you need some encouragement, this post is for the both of us! Matthew 14:24-33 is a portion of scripture that I have known yet never really took the time to focus in and allow God to speak to me through it. Faithful is God though, who always sees the need of our hearts and meets us there. Let's read:

Meanwhile, the disciples were in trouble far away from land, for a strong wind had risen, and they were fighting heavy waves. About three o’clock in the morning Jesus came toward them, walking on the water. When the disciples saw him walking on the water, they were terrified. In their fear, they cried out, “It’s a ghost!”
But Jesus spoke to them at once. “Don’t be afraid,” he said. “Take courage. I am here!”Then Peter called to him, “Lord, if it’s really you, tell me to come to you, walking on the water.”
“Yes, come,” Jesus said.
So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus. But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. “Save me, Lord!” he shouted.
Jesus immediately reached out and grabbed him. “You have so little faith,” Jesus said.“Why did you doubt me?”When they climbed back into the boat, the wind stopped. Then the disciples worshiped him. “You really are the Son of God!” they exclaimed.

Are you in trouble and far from a place of safety?
Are you caught fighting strong winds and heavy waves?
Are your troubles keeping you up?
Are you restless, overwhelmed and exhausted?
Are you fearful?
Jesus has a word for you:
Do NOT be afraid. Take courage I AM HERE!

Are you doubting the presence of God?
Are you asking God to prove His power and might?
Are you praying to do BIG things?
Jesus has a word for you:
COME!

Were you once walking on water but now find yourself sinking?
Are your eyes fixed on your troubles and no longer fixed on Jesus?
Is Jesus the first person you go to with your problems?
Call out to Jesus and He will:
Immediately reach out to You, grab You, and
Bring you back to a place of safety

Like Peter, you too can walk on water in the midst of terrible storms. keep your eyes on Jesus! If your faith is small and you are sinking, Jesus can grab you, place you back on track and stop the strong wind and heavy waves. Call out to Jesus dear friend. And whether the storm has come to a complete stop, passed or still in your midst, worship Jesus for He is God!

Lyrical Friday - More Than Hands

Happy Friday to YOU!
For those of you who have never heard of Sarah Macintosh... shame on you! LOL Unfortunately, you won't find much of Sarah on youtube or such websites.Check out her site HERE and do get her songs off of itunes, you will be blessed. Anywho, on to lyrical business.

I absolutely love this song, I have for the past couple of years. I pray that these lyrics may do a marvelous work in your heart. May you find value and worth in these words. And may your heart break forth in worship.

*I've cut the video out because it was hideous, lol. Yea, I just said that. The lyrics is what matters, hehe.

These are more than hands
My feet have been called out
The message in my heart
I’ll live and breathe, and shout
These are more than words
Our praise is not our own
The melody we know
We love to sing Your song

We are the people
We are His nation
We are the voice Of this generation

Holy! Holy!
Lord God almighty is He
We know who you are!

This is more than life
We’re bought and we’re restored
You died our souls to save
Your Spirit found it’s home

You’re the name above all names
You’re the high and lifted up
You’re the king above all kings
You’re the reason we cry out!
Adoni! Emmanuel!
Jehovah-Rapha! Elohim!
El-Shaddai! El-Olam!
Standing shouting we will sing!

Worthy! Worthy!
You reign in Majesty
We know who you are!
Precious Savior
We know who you are

Lyrical Friday - Small

Small, JJ Heller

Cardboard cutouts on the floor
People wish that you were more like what they wanted you to be
Eventually they won’t have much of you at all in their theology
The walls are closing in on you
You cannot be contained at all

I don’t want to make you small
I don’t want to fit you in my pocket
A cross around my throat
You are brighter than the sun
You’re closer than the tiny thoughts I have of you
But I could never fathom you at all

Broken moldings all around
Broken people hit the ground
When they discover that you’re not here for our benefit
You love in spite of us
You use the least of us to prove the strong aren’t really strong at all

a bit broken and anxious

Hi Friends.
So happy to be writing to you. I pray that you may be found resting, hoping and rejoicing in God's Word.

My heart is heavy, a bit broken and anxious- all for righteousness sake. The lack of love and compassion among Christians is sad. There seems to be more judgment than grace. I by no means intend on pointing a finger and not have three pointing back at me, I fall short too.

God is Holy.
God is Perfection.
God is Blameless & Spotless.
God is Creator, Maker, Author & Giver.
God is Beauty.
God is Light.
God is Life.
God is Deliver.
God is Liberator.
God is Freedom.
God is Father.
God is Spirit.
God is Son.
God is Just.
God is Judge.
God is Hope.
God is Love.
God is Mercy.
God is Grace.
God is Forgiving.
God is Compassionate.
God is Relentless.
God is what we are not.

I encourage you to be as Christ-like as you can be.
May we be known not for what we are against, but for what we believe. We aren't here to point out someone's sins (believe me they are very well aware of them) but rather, we are here to point them to Jesus. Let's not continue oppressing the hopeless or weak with our so-called "Christianity" and self-righteousness. On the contrary, let's abide continually with the Lord Jesus, so that the fruits of His Holy Spirit may be sown in us and flow through us to those who are poor in spirit. May the Love we have placed our faith in, be the Lord that transcends all sin.

Lyrical Friday - Beauty of Simplicity

I love you, Lord; You are my strength. Psalm 18:1
Happy Friday!
Telecast has a wonderful gift of keeping worship simple. And after reading reading Psalm 18 last night I knew with out a doubt that The Beauty of Simplicity would be our lyrical post.

Just that one verse, 18:1, busted me so bad. It got me thinking, how often do I tell the Lord that I love Him? I'll be honest with you, I don't say it enough. And I'm not trying to seem humble. I was humbled last night, convicted and corrected (I had a chair experience). I love the Lord a lot yet by love for God is conditional, my life proves it. I desire nothing more than to love the LORD my God with all my heart, with all my soul, and with all my strength (Deuteronomy 6:5). That's loving God with my entire being not just my words. Change begins one step at a time, my first step was definitely worshiping God through today's lyrical post.

God loves you just the way you are, but He refuses to leave you that way. -Max Lucado
The Challenge: To tell the Lord that I love Him continually through out my day. And because I know that I love to hear why people love me, I will tell the Lord why I love Him. I challenge you to do the same, it may be an obvious reason or a personal one. Through out our day today, and everyday after, may we say, "Lord, I love You."

Lord I love You, because you satisfy me not only with physical food but spiritual food for my hungry heart.
Why do you love the Lord? Share it with me either here in a comment, on facebook or twitter. Share it with the world too!

whatever things-

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things arejust, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. Philippians 4:8

I love that the New Living Translation says, "fix your thoughts..."

single ladies

Hi Ladies.
Singleness is a season, like all others. Nothing to be ashamed of or to be frowned upon. Every season in our lives is a gift from God. If you're single, praise God for this season, celebrate it and embrace it. Even the loneliness can be beautiful thing if we seek the Lord in it. The way I see it is, if I am single today it's because God has called me to be single for this moment of my life- so I will be the best single I can possibly be for the glory of God. Beloved sister (and brother) don't be consumed nor defined by this one area of your life when there is so much more that God wants to do both in you and through you. Be still in God's word and active in His service. May you enjoy your singleness and this video. Be encouraged!

To all my single ladies, this one is for you.

A woman who is no longer married or has never been married can be devoted to the Lord and holy in body and in spirit. I am saying this for your benefit, not to place restrictions on you. I want you to do whatever will help you serve the Lord best, with as few distractions as possible. 1 Corinthians 7:34-35
-
Promise me, O women of Jerusalem, not to awaken love until the time is right. Song of Solomon 3:5
-
Lord, you alone are my inheritance, my cup of blessing. You guard all that is mine. Psalm 16:5
-
You are my private garden, my treasure, my bride, a secluded spring, a hidden fountain. Song of Solomon 4:12
-
So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. Galatians 6:9

Lyrical Friday - Control

Today's Lyrical Friday post comes from JJ Heller, one of my favorites! Control has ministered to me in a way that I didn't even see coming. I don't struggle with cutting myself, never have but I know girls and guys who do. If that is you dear friend, know that God loves you and He cares for you. Hold on to the hope that is found in Christ!
-
No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. 1 Corinthians 10:13
-
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. Psalm 147:3
-
Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits:
Who forgives all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases,
Who redeems your life from destruction,
Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,
Who satisfies your mouth with good things,

So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. Psalm 103:2-5
-
If the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed. John 8:36
-
I would be typing in vain, if I didn't lead you to the one who can free you, that's Jesus. He WILL forgive you, heal you, redeem you, crown you, satisfy you and renew you! He is a mighty comforter and yes, He will bind up your wounds. No need to be ashamed, for we all have scars (even Jesus has scars), different scars but scars none the less. You can have control in Christ, you can do all things through Him who strengthens you.
-
You may never know the depth of anyone's pain, till you listen to them. At times, it will be a silent cry for help or the drip of agony that is poured from a vein... People are hurting and God has placed us in their lives for such a time as this: to be pillars of light, salt to the earth, a holy priesthood, messengers of hope and valiant shepherds. Let's shepherd the flock to Jesus! May we never be to caught up in the affairs of this life or be too distracted doing ministry that we end up overlooking the needs of others.
-
Control, JJ Heller

-
The cut is deep, but never deep enough for me
It doesn’t hurt enough to make me forget
One moment of relief is never long enough
To keep the voices in my head from stealing my peace
-
Oh, control
It’s time, time to let you go
-
Perfection has a price, but I cannot afford to live that life
It always ends the same; a fight I never win
-
Chorus
I’m letting go of the illusion
I’m letting go of the confusion
I can’t carry it another step
I close my eyes and take a breath
I’m letting go …
-
There were scars before my scars
Love written on the hands that hung the stars
Hope living in the blood that was spilled for me
