Lyrical Friday - Not For A Moment

Today's post and song is on that is sure to encourage just about anyone. Below are a few of the verses that have sustained me through rough waters, wanderings and through seasons of stillness and silence. When I have felt alone and abandoned, God has proved me wrong. I have never been alone, not for a moment. He has never forgotten me, not for a moment. He will never forsake me, not for a moment. He is constant. He is good. He is sovereign. And, He is for you! You are not alone. You are not forgotten. You have not been forsaken. May the promises of God and the lyrics of this song encourage you in a great and mighty way.
-
And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed. Deuteronomy 31:8
-
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. Psalm 23:4
-
You light a lamp for me. The Lord, my God, lights up my darkness. Psalm 18:28
-
Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and He saved them out of their distresses. He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and broke their chains in pieces. Psalm 107:13-14
-
Unto the upright there arises light in the darkness; He is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous. Psalm 112:4
-
Where can I go from Your Spirit?
Or where can I flee from Your presence?

If I ascend into heaven, You are there;
If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there.
If I take the wings of the morning,
And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
Even there Your hand shall lead me,
And Your right hand shall hold me.

Psalm 139:7-10

Not For a Moment, Meredith Andrews

-
You were reaching through the storm
walking on the water
even when I could not see
in the middle of it all
when I thought You were a thousand miles away
not for a moment did You forsake me
not for a moment did You forsake me

-
after all You are constant
after all You are only good
after all You are sovereign
not for a moment will You forsake me
not for a moment will You forsake me
-
You were singing in the dark
whispering Your promise
even when I could not hear
I was held in Your arms
carried for a thousand miles to show
Not for a moment did You forsake me
-
and every step every breath you are there
every tear every cry every prayer
in my heart at my worst
when my world falls down
not for a moment will You forsake me
even in the dark
even when it's hard
you will never leave me
after all

speak encouragement

Anxiety in the heart causes depression, but a good word makes it glad. Proverbs 12:25

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver. Proverbs 25:11

Now listen, the words of the prophets with one accord encourage the king. Therefore please let your word be like the word of one of them, and speak encouragement. 2 Chronicles 18:12

I want to challenge you today to speak encouragement. Enough with the lecturing, pointing a finger and rubbing it in that you were right- speak encouragement.

Tell someone how blessed you are to know them.
Thank someone today for being who they are in your life.
Compliment someone on their smile.
Commend someone on the great job they are doing.
Tell your family and friends that you love them.
Speak Encouragement.
Speak a kind word.
Speak thankfulness.
Speak in love, in mercy, in grace.

to: All // from: Paul

Today I will only post a verse. I do ask that you meditate on it. May God overflow your life with His joy.

Our hearts ache, but we always have joy. We are poor, but we give spiritual riches to others. We own nothing, and yet we have everything. 2 Corinthians 6:10

Lyrical Friday - Reign In Us

Hi Everyone! So glad to be back.
My laptop was with the Geek Squad this week and it is so nice to have it back. It's increadible how much time can be consumed on a computer. I devoted more time to praying, reading, writing, cleaning, cooking and baking. I read so much. It was wonderful.

Two very awesome scriptures that I read this week are found in Isaiah 35:
Stregthen the weak hands, and make firm the feeble knees.
Say to those who are fearful-hearted, "Be strong, do not fear! Behold your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God; He will come and save you!" (verses 3-4)
These two verses speak boldly to me what we as Christians ought to be doing: strengthening, making firm and encouraging those who are discouraged, anxious and fearful with the hope that is within us- the hope of Jesus Christ. May we never be silent Christians, who are found living a mundane, quiet and fruitless life. Be salt & be light!

Today is Lyrical Friday and there is one song that has been playing over and over in my head for the past week. Reign In Us by Starfield is this week's lyrical song. For my birthday this year I desired one thing, to celebrate in the presence of the Lord honoring Him. A group of ladies came to my house and we spent a beautiful time in worship and prayer. When the time for communion came around Aimee played this song. As you read the lyrics, allow the words to saturate your heart and surely these words in no time will be flowing from your lips as a sweet smelling aroma unto the Lord as you cry out to Him.
Be blessed and may you find all your satisfaction in God alone!

Reign In Us, Starfield

You thought of us before the world began to breathe
You knew our names before we came to be
You saw the very day we fall away from you
And how desperately we need to be redeemed

Lord Jesus, come lead us
We're desperate for your touch

Oh great and mighty one
With one desire we come
That you would reign
That you would reign in us
We're offering up our lives
A living sacrifice
That you would reign
That you would reign in us

Spirit of the living God fall fresh again
Come search our hearts and puify our lives
We need your perfect love
We need your discipline
We're lost unless you guide us with your light

Lord Jesus, come lead us

We're desperate for your touch

Chorus
Oh great and mighty one
With one desire we come
That you would reign
That you would reign in us
We're offering up our lives
A living sacrifice
That you would reign
That you would reign in us

We cry out for your life to revive us, cry out
For your love to define us cry out
For your mercy to keep us
Blameless until you return

So reign please reign in us

Come purify our hearts
We need your touch
Come cleanse us like a flood
And set us out
So the world may know you reign you reign in us

Speak

It's almost 3am, and I have to be up early... But, I can not go to sleep until I speak to you.

As I mentioned in a previous blog, I am reading through the book of Acts in my devotion time. Before heading to bed I went back for some more. I picked up where I had left off and kept reading until I got to Acts 20:2, "While there, he encouraged the believers in all the towns he passed through..." Even as I am writting to you, I am blown away by Paul's zeal to speak!

It got me thinking, am I that diligent to encourage the believers around me? Am I being a vessel of honor, sanctified and ready for any opportunity to minister to my sisters (2 Timothy 2:20-21)? Am I as enthustiastic as Paul, to speak the things of God everywhere I go? When I enter a room do I diffuse the frangrance of the knowledge of Christ (2 Corinthians2:14-15) ? Am I being salt and light everywhere I go (Matthew 5:13-16)?

Paul goes on to say:
(Verse 24) But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.
(Verses 26-28) I declare today that I have been faithful. If anyone suffers eternal death, it’s not my fault, for I didn’t shrink from declaring all that God wants you to know. So guard yourselves and God’s people. Feed and shepherd God’s flock—his church, purchased with his own blood—over which the Holy Spirit has appointed you as elders.

May we be Proverbs 31:26 women, "She opens her mouth with wisdom, And on her tongue is the law of kindness." My prayer is that like Paul, I would be faithful to speak when He is commanding me to do so. I pray the same for you.
