Lyrical Friday - Beloved

After a month long break, Lyrical Friday is back. Yay!

Tenth Avenue North has blown me away with their song Beloved. This song brings to life the book and story of Hosea, in such a way that you can't help but identify with it's words. I love it. Meditate on these lyrics and allow God to woo you with His perfect love.

Therefore, behold, I will allure her, will bring her into the wilderness, and speak comfort to her. Hosea 2:14

Beloved, Tenth Avenue North

If you haven't read Hosea , I highly recommend that you do.

Lyrical Friday

The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. John 10:10

Hola.
I have been holding on to this video for quite some months now as a "secret" because it would eventually I wanted it to be played for the youth group... The Whosoevers played it this past Sunday at Rebel Church. So the beans have been spilled. Without further ado, In the Words of satan by The Arrows.
P.S. The video is a bit graphic, but to quote The Arrows, "This is nothing you won't see in a PG rated film".

in the words of satan, The Arrows

My good friend Michi shared with me an excellent observation (she's obviously A LOT smarter than I am). She said something along the lines of how appropriate that the voice singing as the voice of Satan is sweet and almost angelic because Satan is the master of disguise and deceitful. Think about that.

Lyrical Friday - Our God

In all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:37-39

Hi.
Once again, I had a different song in mind for Lyrical Friday but God had a little something already prepared for us. Our God, written by Chris Tomlin and Matt Redman, is a lyrical masterpiece. I love that we are reminded where we came from (the ashes). We are reminded who God is (greater, stronger, higher than any other, healer, awesome in power). We are reminded that God is for us (no one can stop us). We are reminded that God is with us (nothing can stand against us). May you be blessed through this song.

Our God, Chris Tomlin

Water You turned into wine

Open the eyes of the blind
There’s no one like You
None like You
Into the darkness You shine
Out of the ashes we rise
There’s no one like You
None like You

CHORUS
Our God is greater, our God is stronger
God You are higher than any other
Our God is Healer, awesome in power
Our God, Our God…

Into the darkness you shining
Out of the ashes we Rise
There’s no One like You
None like You.

BRIDGE
And if Our God is for us, then who could ever stop us
And if our God is with us, then what can stand against?
And if Our God is for us, then who could ever stop us
And if our God is with us, then what can stand against?
What can stand against?

Lyrical Friday - Beautiful Things

Amigos, it's Friday!!!
This is the day that the Lord has made, for you, for me- let us rejoice and be glad in it! Psalm 118:24 I love that we are reminded to rejoice and be glad, regardless of our current circmstance we can rejoice and be glad because of the greatness and power of God's love for us.

I was working on my HEAL Journey homework and preparing for tomorrow's small group. I stopped to pray, "Lord help me to see myself through your eyes..." As I whispered these words Michael Gungor's song Beautiful Things began to play from my phone. Oh Jesus! Thank you for your faithfulness. I want to share this song with you. May you be reminded today that Jesus doesn't go fishing for clean fish, he casts out his net and then cleans his fish. He can do beautiful and mighty things through your life, even if all you have to offer is a broken life.

God bless you beloved of the Lord!

Beautiful Things, Gungor

All this pain
I wonder if I’ll even find my way
I wonder if my life could really change at all
All this earth
Could all that is lost ever be found
Could a garden come up from this ground at all

You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of the dust
You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of us

All around
Hope is springing up from this old ground
Out of chaos life is being found in You

You make me new, You are making me new
You make me new, You are making me new

Lyrical Friday- Shadowfeet

HAPPY FRIDAY!
I hope you are doing well.

This week's Lyrical Friday is Shadowfeet by Brooke Fraser. These lyrics remind me that I am a new person in Christ (My past is not who I am and it does not determine my future). I  am reminded that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, who strengthens you. I am no longer gripped by fear, shame, guilt and worry.I can stand firm in the midst of uncertainty because I am found in Him who calms the raging seas.

May you be clothed with strength and dignity, and may you laugh without fear of the future as you are found in Him... still standing.

Shadowfeet, Brooke Fraser

Walking, stumbling on these shadowfeet
toward home, a land that i've never seen
I am changing, less and less asleep
made of different stuff than when i began
and i have sensed it all along
fast approaching is the day

[CHORUS]
when the world has fallen out from under me
I'll be found in you, still standing
when the sky rolls up and mountains fall on their knees
when time and space are through
I'll be found in you

Theres distraction buzzing in my head
saying in the shadows it's easier to stay
but I've heard rumours of true reality
whispers of a well-lit way

You make all things new

You make all things new
You make all things new
You make all things
You make all things

[CHORUS 2]
When the world has fallen out from under me
I'll be found in you, still standing
Every fear and accusation under my feet
when time and space are through
I'll be found in you
when time and space are through
I'll be found in you
when time and space are through
I'll be found in you

Lyrical Friday - Love Me

Whom have I in heaven but you? I desire you more than anything on earth. My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; He is mine forever. Psalm 73:25-26

Hi Friends.
Today's Lyrical Friday song is Love Me by JJ Heller. This song echoes what God has been speaking to me through the book of Isaiah and pretty much through everyone I encounter. There is no limit to God's love for us. Nothing will ever separate us from the Love of God. His love knows no bounds.

A few years ago, I had hit rock bottom and fell into an ugly depression. Wrong decisions had shaken my ground. I was left feeling confused and betrayed by my heart. It was during that lonely, dark, dry and barren season of my life that I learned a lesson that continues breathing life to me. It was in a prayer meeting that God lead me to Joel 2:13(NLT) and He spoke to me: ["Don’t tear your clothing in your grief, but tear your hearts instead.” Return to the Lord your God, for he is merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. He is eager to relent and not punish.]

God's character is simply amazing yet profoundly indescribable.
He is merciful.
He is compassionate.
He is slow to anger.
He is abounding in love.
He is eager to bless you.
And in Him, death has lost its sting.

May His love be your all in all. God bless you.

He cries in the corner where nobody sees
He's the kid with the story no one would believe
He prays every night, Dear God won't you please
Could you send someone here who will love me?

Who will love me for me
Not for what I have done or what I will become
Who will love me for me
Cause nobody has shown me what love
What love really means

Her office is shrinking a little each day
She's the woman whose husband has run away
She'll go to the gym after working today
Maybe if she was thinner
Then he would've stayed
And she says

Who will love me for me?
Not for what I have done or what I will become
Who will love me for me?
Cause nobody has shown me what love, what love really means

He's waiting to die as he sits all alone
He's a man in a cell who regrets what he's done
He utters a cry from the depths of his soul
Oh Lord, forgive me, I want to go home
Then he heard a voice somewhere deep inside
And it said
I know you've murdered and I know you've lied
I have watched you suffer all of your life
And now that you'll listen, I'll tell you that I...

I will love you for you
Not for what you have done or what you will become
I will love you for you
I will give you the love
The love that you never knew

Lyrical Friday - You Are Mine

Hello Dear Friends!
I recently came across Enter the Worship Circle and as soon as I heard 'You Are Mine' it became an athem. I am currently reading and studying the book of Isaiah. God has certaintly taken me on a most beautiful journey through this book and I can't get enough of it. So naturally, hearing the lyrics to this song confirmed once again what He has been speaking to me... I am His.

But now, thus says the LORD, who created you, O [enter your name here], and He who formed you, O [enter your name here]: “ Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine. Isaiah 43:1

I pray that through this song you may be reminded of this great truth. In the words found in Song of Solomon: my beloved is mine, and I am His. God bless YOU!

You Are Mine, Enter the Worship Circle

maybe i don't have the strength
maybe i don't have the faith
you brought me here in forty years
when i know this trip should take a week
i've shed my tears and shed my blood
been outran some by the flood
and winter steals my songs away
in all of this i've come undone
.
when you walk through the water
i will be with you
when you pass through the river
those waves they will not overtake you
when you walk on the fire
those flames they will not touch you
you are mine
you are mine
.
i've been a child
i've been a slave
and i've grown bitter
and learned to pray
i've packed my bags and started back
the cost is just too high to pay
.
when you walk through the water
i will be with you
when you pass through the river
the waves they will not overtake you
when you walk on the fire
those flames they will not touch you
you are mine
you are mine.
you are mine.

Lyrical Friday - The Great Love Story

Lyrical Friday is here!
Last Friday I took the day off from the blog world but today we are back.

Jimmy Needham has become a favorite on my playlist. I think I have heard today's song, The Great Love Story, almost 10 times in the last hour. Jesus has truly won and victory belongs to us who are found in Christ Jesus. I won't say much more about the song, I'll let the lyrics penetrate your mind and heart. God bless you my friends.
See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Ephesians 5:15-16

The Great Love Story, Jimmy Needham

Where do you hide
Where do you go?
Why are you running from me?
And why do you fear when you know I am near to Thee
Someone come
Someone come
Someone come fill the divide
Fill the divide
Colorless life, not even grey
Oceans apart and miles and miles away
O, being deceived and deceiving the same
Jesus come
Jesus come
Jesus come fill the divide
Who will save me from this death
Who will save me from this death
Who will save me from this death
Who will raise me from the dead
Who will save me, who will save?
Jesus won
Jesus won
Jesus won, filled the divide
Jesus won
Jesus won
Jesus won, filled the divide
All glory
All honor be
To the God that filled the divide

Lyrical Friday - I still Believe

Hola Amigos! Happy Friday.
Today's Lyrical Friday song is one that has helped me get through many rough times. Jeremy Camp's song, I Still Believe,is a declaration of faith in the midst of uncertainties and trials. I pray that as you read these lyrics and play the video, that your heart would believe in God's faithfulness, in His truth and in the wonders and promises of His Word. Even when you can not see, choose to believe in the God of our salvation.

And he believed in the LORD, and He accounted it to him for righteousness. Genesis 15:16

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11

I Still Believe, Jeremy Camp

Scattered words and empty thoughts
Seem to pour from my heart
I've never felt so torn before
Seems I don't know where to start
But its now that I feel your grace fall like rain
From every fingertip washing away my pain

I still believe in your faithfulness
I still believe in your truth
I still believe in your holy word
Even when I don't see, I still believe

Though the questions still fog up my mind
With promises I still seem to bear
Even when answers slowly unwind
It's my heart I see you prepare
But its now, that I feel, your grace fall like rain
From every fingertip washing away my pain

I still believe in your faithfulness
I still believe in your truth
I still believe in your holy word
Even when I don't see, I still believe

Well the only place I can go is into your arms
Where I throw to you my feeble prayers well in brokenness
I can see that this was your will for me
Help me to know that you are near

I still believe in your faithfulness
I still believe in your truth
I still believe in your holy word
Even when I don't see, I still believe

Lyrical Friday - Beautiful

Happy Friday!
Today's song can pretty much sum up where I am with the Lord. I find myself in a place where all I can say is, "Lord, You truly are beautiful." His love is amazing. His faithfulness is wonderful. He is beautiful, majestic in all His ways. May this song become the prayer of your heart and the praise upon your lips.

Like an apple tree among the trees of the woods,
So is my beloved among the sons.
I sat down in his shade with great delight,
And his fruit was sweet to my taste.

Beautiful, written by Samuel Lane but the video below is by Jesus Culture.

I need You like the rain
Come to me and sing again
I long for Your love so much
I've wanted Your pure touch

You are beautiful, beautiful
You're beautiful, beautiful
So beautiful, so beautiful

I need You to be here
Come to me, I can feel You near
I love You, You are my hope
You love me as Your own
