I am squeezing a little bit of time to post Oceans, a song that has captivated my heart from Hillsong United's most recent album. The lyrics are simple, yet from beginning to end its a spiritual awakening. May your strength be renewed, your faith fortified, and your feet swift to follow Jesus. May the Spirit lead you to where your trust is without borders.
I'm actually writing this post Thursday night because early this morning my Mother, Bruny, will be having eye surgery. Please keep her in prayer as well as the medical staff (specially Dr. Abbey) of Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. I am confident that the good work God began in her, He will complete. He who created her will bring order to the chaos. He holds her in His hands and I will not fear. I will praise Him for His faithfulness to my Mother, to my family and me.

Today's lyrical Friday song is 'I Will Exalt' by Hillsong. This Wednesday the worship team sang this one and for the first time, in a long time, I broke down in tears. Since this fiery trial with my Mother, the peace of God (which surpasses ALL understanding) has guarded my heart and mind. His peace has sustained me. And as I sang the first verse, I exalted Him, I praised Him, worshiped Him for being my God. And then the chorus began... my hiding place. That was all I needed for the tears to burst through my tightly sealed eyes. All these days He has been my peace. But at night, when silence and stillness invite thoughts of doubt, fear and anxiety, He has been my hiding place. As His children, we can enter His presence with our doubts, questions, fears, anxiety, brokenness, mourning, loneliness, depression and failure... and hide (from everything and everyone) in Him. There He comforts us, holds us and reassures us that He himself will fight for us. If you need a hiding place, find a safe refuge in the Lord. Start by meditating on the lyrics and making them your song of praise. Prayer will lead you to His glorious hiding place.

As a Christian, it the desire of my heart to see all my loved ones walking in the ways of the Lord. I want for them to experience peace, love and joy. I want them to know the power of Christ in their lives and to share in the grace that has been so abundantly given to me. I want so much for them, yet they refuse it.
Out of all the unsaved people that I know, there is one in particular that has brought me to my knees year after year praying for His salvation. We will call him Bob. Being the straight forward gal that I am and battling years of foot in mouth disease, I thought it wise and prudent to always point out to Bob all his shortcomings and his faults. I thought that in doing so I was right. After all, in order to HELP Bob see his need of a savior, I needed to point out the sin in his life. Wrong! This is a common mistakes that Christians make unconsciously.
God graciously opened my eyes to error of my ways and used this song by Hillsong United to lead me in the way of His love. He helped me understand that I am not to play the role of the Holy Spirit in Bob's life, or any one else for that matter. He revealed to me that Bob was aware of his own shortcomings and unhappiness and I didn't need to keep reminding him of them (kicking the horse while its already dead). Faithful as God is, He forgave me for my mishandling of this situation and He tore down the walls in my heart. He has sown the fruits of His Spirit in my life and given me a new tactic: let love tear down the walls, not your condemnation.
Beloved reader, it is my prayer for you this day that you be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit. May all the fruits of His precious Spirit be sown in your life and bear much fruit, good fruit, fruitful fruit. Heavenly Father I pray that the out pour of Your Holy Spirit be evident in their out pour of Your fruits from their lives to all others. May Your love tear down the walls in their lives and tear down the walls of all those around them who do not know You, Jesus, as their Lord and Savior. And when they don't see evidence of their love transforming their lives, let hope and faith arise, for they do not need to see it to believe it. Your Name is glorious. Your love is changing us, calling us, to worship in spirit and in truth, as all creation returns to You. It is in your name Father, Son and Holy Spirit that I pray. Amen. -

Proverbs 31:25 is a verse that has prepared me mentally for times of tribulation: She laughs without fear of the future. Now that is the woman I desire to be; who can face tribulation and laugh (be of good cheer) knowing full well who holds me in the midst of trying times and holds my future all at once. Youth Camp was nothing short of exciting, adventurous and amazing. Definitely one of the hardest camps we've experience but over flowing with the power of the Holy Spirit and God's Word. Every year there is a song that unofficially becomes the camp song/theme. This year, Like An Avalanche by Hillsong United was that song. I pray that as you listen to the lyrics, that you would be humbled and surrender all.

God has been doing a work in my life that is simply remarkable in my eyes. He has given great strength, divine revelation, tremendous comfort, satisfying my heart hunger as well as putting away with doubts and teaching me wonderful truths. This past Sunday, Rebel Church sang this very song and boy was I happy! You see, this wasn't the first time I heard this song. A few years back, I was in one of my darkest moments. My heart was broken, self worth was lost, I was lost, confused, depressed, angry, weak, restless, empty and somewhat hopeless. It was then, that through His Word, His presence and through worship songs like this one that He began a restoration work that continues on today.
You Bring, by Hillsong United, prepared a way in my heart where there was none. My prayer for you is that the Lord may use these lyrics to do a new work in your heart, as He did in mine. May He refresh, renew, restore what has been taken, what has been lost or forgotten in your life. May strength rise up and overflowing joy fill your heart. I've been busy catching up with Family & Friends. I can't wait to have spare time in my hands to share with you what great and mighty things the Lord has been revealing and teaching me.
On another note, the Uth Nation Peru Team is home. This past Wednesday the youth took over the service, from worship to skits and testimonies of the trip. Real soon, you'll being reading a short testimony from one of the youth kids.
