Lyrical Friday: Dry Bones

Happy Friday!
Click the link below and watch this video first, then return for the song.
Dry Bones Monologue
-
Dry Bones, Gungor Band

-

My soul cries out
My soul cries out for you

These bones cry out
These dry bones cry for you
To live and move
'Cause only You can raise the dead
Can lift my head up

My soul cries out
My soul cries out for you

Jesus, You're the one who saves us
Constantly creates us into something new
Jesus, surely you will finds us
Surely our Messiah will make all things new
Will make all things new

Life is breaking out, it's breaking out
Life is breaking out, it's breaking out, it's breaking out
And life is breaking out, it's breaking out, it's breaking out

Lyrical Friday - Crags and Clay

Happy Friday!
I am so excited to announce a new Heal group. This is the first adult Heal group that I do. It is  definitely way different that leading a youth only group. It was a very sweet time. So what more appropriate song than Crags and Clay by Gungor.
-
You are wonderfully made.
You are wholly and dearly loved by God.
-
Crags and Clay, Gungor

-
Standing up from crags and clay
The peaks of earth
In full display
They break the lines
That break the sky
That's full of life
Full of life

The chaos of creation's dance
A tapestry, a symphony
Of life himself
Of love herself
It's written in our very skin

All praises to the one who made it all
Who made it all
All praises to the one who made it all
And finds it beautiful

Soil is spilling life to life
Stars are born
To fill the night
The ocean's score
The majesty
Of sculpted shore
Mystery

All praises...
Fearfully and wonderfully and beautifully made

Lyrical Friday - When Death Dies

Happy Friday to you and Merry Christmas!

Today's post come from the talented and musically genius Gungor Band. This song tells the best part of the Christmas story. I pray it inspires you today to rejoice and be the bearer of glad tidings!

Christmas story time.
Whether its playing on TV/ being read in a classroom/ played as a skit/ or shared to a church body, the Christmas story is being told. What sweet glory this time of year is, when even heathens declare the birth of our King. How tragic though to leave the story half way told. The birth of a King and the gifts He received wasn't the end of it all. He grew, He lived, He died and He rose from the dead victorious. And because He lives, those who believe in Him, live as well.

Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed— in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. Then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written:
“Death is swallowed up in victory.”
“O Death, where is your sting?
"O Hades, where is your victory?”
The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
1 Corinthians 15:51-52, 55-58

-
I challenge you, tell the complete Christmas story to all the people around you. The end of the story is the best part, for the end of the Christmas story includes your name and mine,
"...and  [your name here]  too has risen from the dead and will life forever and ever with Jesus."

When Death Dies, Gungor Band

Like the waters flooding the desert
Like the sunrise showing all things

Where it comes flowers grow
Lions sleep, gravestones roll
Where death dies all things live
Where it comes poor men feast
Kings fall down to their knees
When death dies all things live
All things live

Like a woman searching and finding love
Like an ocean buried and bursting forth

Where it comes flowers grow
Lions sleep, gravestones roll
Where death dies all things come alive
Where it comes water’s clean
Children fed
All believe
When death dies all things live
All things live

Lyrical Friday - Please Be My Strength

Hi Friends!
This past Sunday I had the honor of worshipping with Gungor Band live. It was awesome, beyond words. Definitely a worship experience. Go to their website and find out when they are playing in your city/state. You'll thank me.

Please be my Strength is one of those songs that cuts deep into fears. It serves as a reminder to me that God is my strength. I cannot create such strength nor can I sustain my futile strength- only God and God alone can create it and sustain it. I pray that this song may serve you as a reminder, an anthem to stand firm on. God is your strength. With Christ you can and will overcome your fears, your affliction and regain faith, passion and strength. He can give you strength where there is none and bless you with peace.

Unless your faith is firm, You cannot stand firm. Isaiah 7:9b
The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in Him, and I am helped;
Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song I will praise Him. Psalm 28:7
But the salvation of the righteous is from the LORD;
He is their strength in the time of trouble. Psalm 37:39
My flesh and my heart fail; But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:6

Please be my Strength, Gungor Band

I've tried to stand my ground
I've tried to understand
but I can't seem to find my way
like water on the sand
or grasping at the wind
I keep on falling short

please be my strength
please be my strength
I don't have anymore
I don't have anymore

I'm looking for a place
that I can plant my faith
one thing I know for sure
I cannot create it
I cannot sustain it
It’s Your love that’s keeping (captured) me

Please be my strength...

at my final breath
I hope that I can say
I've fought the good fight of faith
I pray your glory shines
through this doubting heart of mine
so my world would know that You

You are my strength
You are my strength
You and You alone
Keep bringing me back home

Lyrical Friday - You have Me

Happy Friday!!!
I am so happy to be sharing with you today.
You have Me by Michael and Lisa Gungor is one of the songs that brings stillness into my life and sprinkles grace over me. I am reminded through these lyrics of how great, how deep, how wide, how long is God's love for me. I sin continually. I am rebellious. I am alltogether unloveable but He still chooses to love me. Though I may wander, He still has me. Though I may fear, doubt and question Him, He still has me. Though I don't love Him as I say I do, He still has me.

Beloved Friends, be encouraged today with this glorious truth, He has you. You belong to God. He will shower you with grace, love and tender mercies. May His precious Spirit fill you today with this knowledge. Jesus loves you, for you!

I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence!
If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I go down to the grave, you are there.
If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans,
even there your hand will guide me, and your strength will support me.
I could ask the darkness to hide me and the light around me to become night—
but even in darkness I cannot hide from you. To you the night shines as bright as day.
Darkness and light are the same to you.
Psalm 139:7-12
You have Me, Gungor

Out on the farthest edge
There in the silence
You were there

My faith was torn to shreds
Heart in the balance
And You were there

Always faithful, always good
You still have me
You still have my heart

I thought I had seen the end
Everything broken
But You were there

I've wandered at heaven's gates
I've made my bed in hell
You were there still

Always faithful, always good
You still have me
You still have my heart

You have me, You have me
You have my heart completely
You have me, You have me
You have my heart completely

You have me, You have me
You have my heart completely
You have me, You have me
You have my heart

Lyrical Friday - Beautiful Things

Amigos, it's Friday!!!
This is the day that the Lord has made, for you, for me- let us rejoice and be glad in it! Psalm 118:24 I love that we are reminded to rejoice and be glad, regardless of our current circmstance we can rejoice and be glad because of the greatness and power of God's love for us.

I was working on my HEAL Journey homework and preparing for tomorrow's small group. I stopped to pray, "Lord help me to see myself through your eyes..." As I whispered these words Michael Gungor's song Beautiful Things began to play from my phone. Oh Jesus! Thank you for your faithfulness. I want to share this song with you. May you be reminded today that Jesus doesn't go fishing for clean fish, he casts out his net and then cleans his fish. He can do beautiful and mighty things through your life, even if all you have to offer is a broken life.

God bless you beloved of the Lord!

Beautiful Things, Gungor

All this pain
I wonder if I’ll even find my way
I wonder if my life could really change at all
All this earth
Could all that is lost ever be found
Could a garden come up from this ground at all

You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of the dust
You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of us

All around
Hope is springing up from this old ground
Out of chaos life is being found in You

You make me new, You are making me new
You make me new, You are making me new

follow me
