Happy Friday!
Today's post is short and a glorious one. Glorious because it's a song that speaks of the life that we are to live as Christians. When Matthew 5 exhorts us that we are to be the light of the world, it speaks of a reflector light. Such a light is mirrored in the way the moon reflects light from the sun. We are to live our lives in such a way that we reflect the light of Christ to a dark world. So where is the glorious part to all of this? God can use anyone to reflect His majesty and light, all we need to do is surrender to Him. Be encouraged today to let it all go, for the sake of knowing Him and being more like Him. He is as the sun and we as the moon.

You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father. Matthew 5:14-16

Lyrical Friday - Grace
Hi Friends! Happy Friday to You.
These past few days it seems as though the message of forgiveness and grace keeps coming up... I think God is trying to say something! This morning as I checked my Twitter account, I read a song suggestion from my friend Estela: Grace by Phil Wickham. Even though this is a song that I know, that I have known, it is still new to me. I've been walking with the Lord for 14 years, nevertheless, grace is very new to me. I pray that through these lyrics, you may be drawn into grace.
God's grace has taught me that I don't have to do life on my own strength, but in His strength.
God's grace has taught me that we all fall short, therefore we must keep our eyes only on Jesus.
God's grace has taught me that my shameful scars can be a beautiful picture of His redemption.
God's grace has taught me that despite my past mistakes I can still be used by Him.
God's grace has taught me that I will continue to make mistakes, and He'll continue to pick me up.
God's grace has taught me that nothing will ever separate me from His love.
God's grace has taught me to love God, to love people and to love myself.
Grace, Phil Wickham
The sky is grey and the light is far
The sea is a rage within my heart
I turn my sight to the crashing waves
I cry in the night just to be saved
I need eyes to be my guide
I need a voice that’s louder than mine
I need hope I need You
Cause I can’t do this alone
Grace I call Your name
Oh won’t Your smile fall over me
I’m cracked and dry on hands and knees
Oh sweet grace rain down on me I need You grace
I pray for dawn a new day to live
I pray for mercy only Jesus gives
Though darkness falls and a million cry
I believe over all there’s a greater light shining for us
Come down and save me

But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 2 Corinthians 12:9

Lyrical Friday - Cannons
Hi Friends.
After praying this morning for a Lyrical Friday song, this song began to play in my mind. So much so, that I have not been able to sing any other. God definitely wants you to listen to the lyrics, meditate on them and worship Him. Phil Wickham is one of my favorite worshippers. I was blessed to hear Phil live this past January. Cannons is up there in my favorites written by him.
Praying that as you sit and take in these lyrics, that your heart would be humbled before the majesty of our Lord. May you break forth in song and praise our Lord.

Lyrical Friday - Heaven Song
happy Friday sweet friends.

Do I long to see His face?
Am I living for the here and now, or for the there and then?
Am I eager/restless/craving for Heaven or am I attached to this world?
-
As I search my own heart and ask myself these questions, only one song echoes my response. Heaven Song by Phil Wickham is fitting. May these lyrics provoke you to yearn for Heaven, for our Father; with the same passion as the teenager who now is basking in the full glory of our Lord.

Heaven Song, Phil Wickham
You wrote a letter and You signed your name
I read every word of it page by page
You said that You'd be coming, coming for me soon
Oh my God I'll be ready for You
I want to run on greener pastures
I want to dance on higher hills
I want to drink from sweeter waters
In the misty morning chill
And my soul is getting restless
For the place where I belong
I can't wait to join the angels and sing my heaven song
I hear Your voice and I catch my breath
'Well done my child, enter in and rest'
Tears of joy roll down my cheek
It's beautiful beyond my wildest dreams

At the funeral of a teenager, the youth pastor shared a conversation he held with him days before his death:
One day, this teen was weeping and so, the youth pastor asked him why he was crying. The teenager replied, "I want to see the face of God." Over a year ago my cousin, who attended the funeral of her friend, shared with me this beautiful anecdote. It is still resonating heavy within my heart.

Lyrical Friday - I Will Wait For You There
Hi Everyone!
I pray that today's song would ignite within you a desire for more of Jesus. I encourage you to set a date with God. Rotic moments are the best! (Rotic is romantic without the man, hehe)
Draw near to God and He will draw near to you... James 4:8

I Will Wait For You There, Phil Wickham
I will wait for You there
Down on my knees where I met You
Give You all of my cares
Find a grace to hold onto now
I’m calling for You
I will wait for You there
far from the world and it’s violence
It left broken and bare
I need to hear You in the silence now
I’m calling for You
And with outstretched arms
I will sing out melodies
And my beating heart
Will pour out a symphony
Hallelujah’s in the morning
Hallelujah’s in the night
I will wait for you as long as I have life
I will wait for You there
Down On my knees where I met you
Cause life is a war fought with tears
But You are the strength I hold onto now
I’m calling for you
