Tongues made of glass

If only our tongues were made of glass... This convicted me so much. I am currently sick and my words have been few, therefore, I know I have sinned less. I invite you to meditate on the following verses with me. Each pertains to our tongue, mouth, lips and words. God bless you!

Do not be rash with your mouth, and let not your heart utter anything hastily before God. For God is in heaven, and you on earth; Therefore let your words be few. Ecclesiastes 5:2

In the multitude of words sin is not lacking, But he who restrains his lips is wise. Proverbs 10:19

The words you say will either acquit you or condemn you.Matthew 12:37

And so blessing and cursing come pouring out of the same mouth. Surely, my brothers and sisters, this is not right! James 3:10

Watch your tongue and keep your mouth shut, and you will stay out of trouble. Proverbs 21:23

Those who control their tongue will have a long life; opening your mouth can ruin everything. Proverbs 13:3

The lips of the wise give good advice;
the heart of a fool has none to give. Proverbs 15:7

The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences. Proverbs 18:21

Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; Keep watch over the door of my lips. Psalm 141:3

Truthful words stand the test of time,
but lies are soon exposed. Proverbs 12:19

Stay away from fools, for you won’t find knowledge on their lips. Proverbs 14:7

The words of the godly are a life-giving fountain; the words of the wicked conceal violent intentions. Proverbs 10:11

Let someone else praise you, not your own mouth— a stranger, not your own lips. Proverbs 27:2

When she speaks, her words are wise,
and she gives instructions with kindness. Proverbs 31:26

Then those who feared the LORD spoke with each other, and the LORD listened to what they said. In his presence, a scroll of remembrance was written to record the names of those who feared him and always thought about the honor of his name. Malachi 3:16
